Herbal Benefits

Herbalogi derived from the word 'herb', which means the plants and 'logy' or 'logos' which means knowledge. Thus Herbalogi is the study of everything that relates to the plants. In the medical world herbalogi understood as a concept or method of treatment using ingredients derived from herbs (medicinal plants). Herbal term usually associated with plants that are not plants that are woody or shrub. In the world of medicine, the term herb has a broader meaning, namely all kinds of plants and all parts that contain one or more active ingredients that can be used as a drug (therapeutic). For example forest noni (Morinda citrifolia) containing Morindin, the active ingredient of anti-cancer; Pegagan (Centela asiatica) containing Asiaticoside useful for skin problems and improve IQ.

Herbal remedies can come in a variety of forms, from powders to teas to extracts to capsules. The type of herb, the potency of its effects, and the preparation necessary all dictate the way in which it is used. Herbs are also used for a wide number of different purposes, and while some plants are shown consistently to provide beneficial effects (the soothing properties of aloe vera have seen wide recognition), others remain unconfirmed by scientific studies. Doing a little research on your own about particular herbs for certain treatments can offer more insight into the degree to which an herb is reliable.

Herbalism is a traditional medicinal or folk medicine practice based on the use of plants and plant extracts. Herbalism is also known as botanical medicine, medical herbalism, herbal medicine, herbology, and phytotherapy. The scope of herbal medicine is sometimes extended to include fungal and bee products, as well as minerals, shells and certain animal parts. Pharmacognosy is the study of medicines derived from natural sources.
